Mission Statement
Its mission is to advance, through preservation and education, the legacy of Bernard Maybeck. LONG VERSION: Taking as its inspiration the life and work of Bernard Ralph Maybeck, the specific purpose of the Maybeck Foundation is to forward the place of architectural design in society, with an emphasis on the artistic dimensions of architecture. As the Maybeck Foundation, it shall vigorously protect, preserve and advance in public thought the buildings, ideas, drawings, artifacts, and reputation of Bernard Maybeck. As a forward-looking advocate of design and the building trades, it shall nurture education, excellence, and humane design. Its constituencies shall include, but not be limited to, the communities of students, academics, professionals, and residents of Berkeley, California and its surrounding Bay Area metropolis, and owners and users of Maybeck buildings nationwide.
Description
Presently the Maybeck Foundation is the organization working with the City of San Francisco to fundraise for the restoration of the Palace of Fine Arts.
