Mission Statement

The Mission of the James and Dorothy Doss Heritage and Culture Center is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of Parker County through cultural and educational events that raise awareness and pride in our western heritage.

Description

The Doss Heritage and Culture Center aims to improve the quality of life by becoming a dynamic institution for the preservation of the cultural heritage of Parker County through the exhibition of historical artifacts and the development of programs that cultivate community awareness and pride in our diverse heritage-past, present and future. Our rich history of cattle barons and cowboys, Broadway and televisons stars, chuck wagons and stage coaches is shared and showcased in galleries that are truly awe-inspiring and reflect all that is Parker County. Throughout the year, the Center hosts a variety of speakers and special guests that present a wide array of topics with a local flair. From politicians and authors, to craftsmen, artisans and musicians, the Center brings the best in cultural education and enrichment to our guests. In addition to our impressive collections and galleries, the Center includes areas that can be rented for a variety of purposes including small concerts, educational programs, meetings, celebrations, dinners and events for all segments of the community.
