The mission of the AmeriCorps Heart of Eden Program is to provide case management services to youth and young adults in the Eden Area to strengthen the spectrum of positive opportunities, including job training and employment assistance, neighborhood improvement projects and building a volunteerism program that would enable youth and young adults to work side by side to rebuild their neighborhoods.
The Associated Community Action Program of Alameda County (ACAP), the public Community Action Agency for Alameda County (excepting Berkeley and Oakland), is the administrator of the Heart of Eden AmeriCorps program, engaging full-time and half-time Members in providing academic or employment-related services to at-risk youth and young adults in the underserved Eden Area of Alameda County; and in providing volunteer opportunities for youth and adults in the community. Members will serve in academic and employment programs targeting youth and young adults who need additional support in completing their education and finding part-time or full-time employment.
