Mission Statement

The mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is working with others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.

The Mission of the National Wildlife Refuge System is to administer a national network of lands and waters for the conservation, management, and where appropriate, restoration of the fish, wildlife, and plant resources and their habitats within the United States for the benefit of present and future generations of Americans.

Description

We have many volunteer positions that work very closely with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service staff to educate the public about who we are and what we do. Our volunteers work weekdays, weekends, some evenings and some holidays. We provide a uniform shirt and hat for each volunteer. We require a minimum of 8 hours a month if you want to be a regular volunteer. We also have opportunities for volunteers to come out for one day events. The perk for volunteering at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge is the opportunity to see wildlife. We have deer, bison, prairie dogs, coyote, fox, badger, bald eagles, hawks, and many other bird species.
