To provide homebound functionally impaired elderly persons with low cost, nutritionally balanced meals in their homes. To promote better health among the older segment of the population through inmproved nutrition. To keep the individual in his home, rather than in an institution. To offer functionally impaired older (or severely handicapped) persons the opportunity to achieve greater independence, both in meal preparation and in the activities of daily living.
Meals on Wheels is one of the services offered by the Osceola County Council on Aging, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of seniors citizens, at-risk youth and disabled adults in our community. Meals on Wheels is a home-delivered meal service for persons who are unable to prepare their own meals, primarily the frail elderly who are confined to their homes. Our dedicated volunteers deliver two meals, a hot and a cold pack, to each client five days a week.
