Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation A (Brooklyn A)’s mission is to advance social and economic justice and community empowerment through innovative, collaborative, neighborhood-based legal representation and advocacy. We assist individuals, families, not-for-profit community-based organizations (CBOs), community development corporations (CDCs), and coalitions in sustaining and developing vibrant, healthy communities.

Brooklyn A’s mission is to advance social and economic justice and empower communities through innovative, collaborative, neighborhood-based legal representation and advocacy. For over 49 years, Brooklyn A has provided high-quality legal assistance to individuals, families, not-for- pro t community-based organizations (CBOs), community development corporations (CDCs), and coalitions keen to develop and sustain vibrant, healthy communities.

We focus our work on litigation and advocacy that preserves and expands affordable housing, combats tenant harassment and housing discrimination, prevents illegal evictions, strengthens families, provides access to education and health care, and safeguards subsistence income for low-to-moderate income individuals and communities throughout New York City.
