Mission Statement

The Virginia Beach CASA Program is a private, non-profit organization committed to advocating for the best interests of children invloved in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court process. The CASA program recruits, trains, and supervises competent volunteers dedicated to advocating for the needs of abused and neglected children in juvenile dependency proceedings. The program promotes safe, permanent homes for all children and seeks to educate the community concerning the needs of abused and neglected children.

Description

The Virginia Beach Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program works to ensure that safe permanent homes are secured for abused and neglected children who come before the Court. The CASA volunteer provides the court with an independent, objective investigation of the home environment and child's needs, recommends available alternatives to meet the needs of the child, and monitors the Court's orders for the child and family.

Being a CASA volunteer has really made a difference in my life. Through CASA I became certified as a Court Appointed Special Advocate which has become very rewarding to me because at the end of the day, I know that I am making a difference in a child's life.
