To support medical RESEARCH for finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma. To EDUCATE patients and physicians about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of melanoma. To act as an ADVOCATE for the melanoma community to raise the awareness of this disease and the need for a cure.

Description

The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is the largest independent, national organization devoted to melanoma in the United States. Committed to the support of medical research in finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma, the MRF also educates patients and physicians about prevention, diagnosis and the treatment of melanoma. The MRF is an active advocate for the melanoma community, helping to raise awareness of this disease and the need for a cure. The MRF's Web site is the premier source for melanoma information seekers.

I signed up to volunteer for an event over a week in advance and didn't hear anything to see if I was accepted until the day before. They should've at least told me a couple days in advance or sent me some form of contact to let me know I was accepted instead of bundling all the info in one email the day before.

It has many opportunities to volunteer in many different ways you would like! Although I'm 16 years old and i can't really volunteer in certain events, there is much to offer in this organization
