Mission Statement

The San Diego Human Dignity Foundation was established in 1996 with a mission to improve the quality of life within San Diego's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community by promoting responsible philanthropy to enact positive social change.

Description

We address such issues as aging, arts and culture, civil rights, education, and health and human services for the LGBT community. Under the direction of a team of dedicated community leaders and volunteers, the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation's goals are to:

  • Build a permanent endowment to meet long-term needs.
  • Strengthen programs and projects by funding organizations that promote wellness and well-being within San Diego's LGBT community.
  • Support a network of volunteers and donors who make lasting and meaningful contributions to our future.
  • Create alliances with San Diego's philanthropic community that promote shared interests and goals.

Our vision is to be recognized throughout the San Diego region for our expertise in philanthropy and responsible financial investments, and to be the charitable organization of choice for philanthropic donors who want to strengthen the LGBT community.
