Mission Statement

HUGE Improv Theater is an artist-led company dedicated to supporting the Twin Cities improv community through performance and education.

Description

The Twin Cities is becoming known for its exciting improvisational theater culture and HUGE Theater seeks to firmly establish not only a home for improvisation in the Twin Cities but also the Twin Cities as place to see some of the best improvised theater in the nation

HUGE Theater is as been at the forefront of this improvisational theater growth by producing shows such as Improv-A-Go-Go (now in its 14th year) and co-producing the Twin Cities Improv Festival which will celebrate its 11th year this June.

Improv is theater for the masses. It has no barriers to participation because it requires no physical ability, grand props or elaborate musical scores. It only requires imagination and an audience. The raw material of improvisation are the honest expressions, experiences and passions of the performers and audience. It's a fresh, immediate form of live performance. Additionally, improvisation is built on conquering fears and working collaboratively in a positive environment. HUGE Theater believes that if people can improvise together and laugh together, they can do anything together.

With our curriculum and selection of productions expanding quickly, as well as ever-growing audience and community interest in improvisation, HUGE has created a stage devoted to long form improvisation and hosts classes to train new performers in this art form.
