Mission Statement

The Blackfeet Tribe Head Start Program located on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation is an early childhood development program designed to assist families by providing comprehensive developmental services to children from prenatal to age 5. The program is committed by dedicated staff to involve families in gaining life support skills through collaborative efforts, resouce and referral, understanding the effects of welfre refrom and utilizinig community partnerships. Most importantly, the program is building on the cultural strengths by incorporating Blackfeet Language, traditions, beliefs, and values in all areas of service. The program is building strong connections between tribal elders and the chidlren to once again promote the cultural survival that identifies us as being from the Blackfeet Nation.

Description

We are located on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation adjecent to the Glacier National Park. We serve over 300 children and families through out each school year and promote awarness to community about literacy, education, familiy gatherings and other areas that we feel importance to the community.
