Mission Statement

The New England Seacoast Institute promotes scientific learning through the study of marine and coastal sciences, providing hands-on learning programs to make scientific concepts more understandable to students. Additionally, NESI conducts research in coastal marine ecology and biology. Focusing on modern techniques in conservation, preservation, and sustainable resource use, NESI contributes to the development of scientific solutions to problems within coastal resource management. NESI is dedicated to inspiring all children to appreciate science, especially minorities, women, and disabled persons, groups traditionally underrepresented in the sciences.
