Mission Statement

To elevate the status of women with disAbilities and carry the issues of the disAbility community with a focus in the issues of women to public policy makers and elected officials at the local and state level to enhance opportunities for education, employment, recreation, housing, health care, socio-economic equality, physical and programmatic access to our communities.

The title of Ms. Wheelchair California carries the responsibility of being the official spokesperson in behalf of the millions of members of the disAbility community in the state addressing equity and equality in all aspects of life.

Description

The Ms. Wheelchair California Pageant, Inc. is a non profit advocacy corporaiton and we make ourselves seen and heard at business, civic, political (not partisan), and community programs and events by having exhibuts and speaking appearances all over the state.

We identify events, publish our availability for speaking engagements, assist with staffing other like minded organizaitons exhibits at events and our own exhibits; promoting our programs and the annual Pageant held at the Abilities Expo in Los Angeles the second weekend of April each year.

There are 29 states that are affiliated with the Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant and we send our title holders to the annual Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant to compete for the title of official spokesowman on behalf of the millions of members of the disAbility community traveling the country carrying our issues and promoting opportunities for inclusion, equity and equality for the disAbility community with a focus on the issues women with disAbilities,
