Mission Statement

The Osceola County Board of County Commissioners, through its Social Services Program provides limited assistance to eligible residents of Osceola County. All funding for programs provided by Social Services are funded by property taxes. No programs are funded by the extra penny sales tax collected in Osceola County.

Description

The Osceola County Human Services Department helps to assist the citizens of Osceola County to meet various needs in their lives. There are four programs included under Human Services and they are the Health Department, Housing, Social Services, and Veterans Services.

The Health Department mission is to promote the health and safety of all residents of Osceola County.

The mission of the Housing Department is two-fold. The first is to administer community development grants that may be allocated for use in Osceola County. This includes the State Housing Initiative Partnership. The second is to administer the counties Section 8 Housing Assistance program.

The Osceola County Board of County Commissioners, through its Social Services Program provides limited assistance to eligible residents of Osceola County.

The Mission of Veterans Services Office is to provide comprehensive services to veterans, their widows, and their dependents, while obtaining the greatest possible benefits for this client base, without regard to race, religion, national origin, age, sex, and physical or mental disabilities.
