Mission Statement
The Community Counseling Center at St. Luke's is a nonprofit, supportive counseling center open to all. It is for anyone looking for comfort, wholeness and nonjudgmental support. The focus is to bring relief and empowerment to each person to find the path, which is right for them. The universal values of healing, wholeness, caring and confidentiality are respected. The American Counseling Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice are followed. The Center does not discriminate on the basis of sex, age, race, color, national origin, handicap, ancestry, place of birth, marital status or religion. The Counseling Center facility provides access to persons with disabilities.
Description
The Community Counseling Center has seven licensed health care counselors; one administrative assistant, one half-time center coordinator and several volunteers. After four years of operation over 1000 clients have used the Center for one-on-one and group counseling. The Center is supported with excellent facilities and partial support by St. Luke's United Methodist Church. The Center is guided by an Advisory Committee of 12 community leaders who meet monthly. Persons of all faiths are served by the Center. The Center is open five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Counseling areas covered, but not limited to, self-esteem, parenting, relationships, stress management, addictions, depression, anger, domestic violence, clinical hypnosis, marriage, grief, illness, and career concerns. Clients include children, youth, adults and persons of all ages.
