Mission Statement
The Allendale Association is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to excellence and innovation in the care, education, treatment and advocacy for children in need and their families.
Description
Established in 1897, the Allendale Association consists of a residential treatment center, special education school, and counseling center, all of which treat the entire child. We provide a place to heal for children suffering the emotional trauma of abuse, neglect, and/ or mental illness. Our services combine intensive therapy, child care, therapeutic recreation, special education and pre-vocational work experience. Allendale is unique in that it is both an approved private school and an Illinois-licensed child welfare agency. Our dynamic and committed staff of professionals are available around the clock, seven days a week, to handle the individual needs of these very special children. Allendale also has community-based group homes and specialized foster homes that take hard-to-place children, such as those with disabilities or severe emotional problems. Allendale also operates a community-based counseling center, an extended day education treatment program for emotionally troubled children from surrounding communities, and extensive family therapy.
