Mission Statement

IMRU's mission is to entertain, inform, educate and advocate. -IMRU entertains listeners through original pieces presented by LGBT artists. From poetry to the latest releases by musicians, out artists present their work. We also report on the latest developments in theater, movies and literature. -IMRU informs the public of current LGBT issues and events through its local and national news segments and by highlighting community related organizations. We also inform the public of the numerous resources available to the community through our weekly calendar segment and website. -IMRU educates both the LGBT and heterosexual communities about LGBT legal, political, social, health and coming out concerns. Educational segments also focus on gay history and gender issues. -IMRU advocates for positive growth in the LGBT community. We challenge our listeners to become civically, politically, and culturally involved in improving the quality of life, the advancement of civil rights, and the artistic development of LGBT people.

Description

We are a group of volunteers dedicated to producing a high quality one hour radio program on LGBT issues. The show airs weekly on 90.7 Los Angeles KPFK from 7-8 each Monday. The show has a radio news magazine format. It covers many diverse issues relating to the LGBT community including: politics, religion, social and legal issues, youth and senior issues, cultural issues and many more.
