Mission Statement

Providing recently arrived refugees, asylees, and victims of trafficking with the resources, referrals, and guidance needed to build successful and self-sufficient lives in Texas. With public and private sector support we continue to serve clients from trouble spots the world over, such as: Iraq, Iran, Burma, Napal, Cuba, Bhrundi, Somalia, Sudan, Congo, Vietnam, etc.

Description

RST, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit agency affiliated with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS), Church World Service (CWS), and Episcopal Migration Ministry (EMM). Since 1978, RST has successfully resettled more than 12,000 refugees. Currently we have offices in: Amarillo, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston.

I enjoy working with the RST Program, the children are some of the sweetest ever and also helpful.. it has been a little challenging with the language barrier but I love that Brenda can be there to help translate when possible and that she has took the time to learn their language as well as some of the other volunteers and workers...

Refugee Services of Texas serves one of Dallas' most vulnerable populations. They come here with nothing and are happy just to be free from war, conflict, and poverty. I loved volunteering with the youth program. Refugee kids have been through so much, and the youth program lets them be kids again. I would definitely recommend volunteering with RST to anyone I know!
