Mission Statement
The Family Reunification Program is a child welfare program serving children affected by parental incarceration. We are committed to helping families address the trauma and loss children experience when they are separated from their parents. We believe that helping children cope with feelings of sadness, anger, shame, isolation, and confusion is crucial during their adjustment to family changes due to parental incarceration. Through supportive services, including support groups, individual and family counseling, parent-child visitation, and advocacy, we striv to promote positive childhood development, improved family functioning, and protective factors to help children avoid intergenerational involvement with criminal justice and corrections systems.
