Mission Statement
Peace Child's mission is to empower young people to be the change they want to see in the world. This theme is at the forefront of each of our projects and programmes, and is the standard by which we work. PCI supports young people around the world to produce books, musicals, educational materials, workshops and training courses on their major generational challenges: climate change, peace, human rights, poverty, and sustainable development. PCI also funds young people to undertake community-based action projects of their own through the "Be the Change!" programme, and hosts the bi-annual World and European Youth Congress series.
Description
Peace Child International is registered in the UK as an educational charity, and since its founding in 1981 has grown to unite more than 1,500 affiliate groups and networks in over 180 countries.
In 29 years, Peace Child International has transformed and grown from its roots in the Peace Child Musical into a truly international organisation, in which we act on new and challenging global issues. As a cultural organisation, we forge our projects and our programmes with the aim of addressing more efficiently and more effectively the changes our world is going through. The work of Peace Child covers a great deal of themes, through educational programmes and trainings, publications, and musical theatre - always with the focus on empowering young people.
