Description
Founded in 2003, the Faith Community Nurse Network exists to provide professional development and networking to faith community nurses in the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area. Its primary aim is to advance the practice, research, and promotion of faith community nursing.
A faith community nurse (FCN) is an experienced, actively licensed registered nurse (RN) who has completed specialized professional nursing education focused on intentional care of the spirit in the faith community setting. She is knowledgeable in two areas - professional nursing and spiritual care. FCNs support the members of a church, mosque or synagogue as they navigate health issues. You'll see FCNs accompany patients to appointments or come to their homes to pray with them or help in a variety of other ways.
