Mission Statement

Minnesota Education Corps is a collaborative effort by federal, state, and local entities and individuals to help Minnesotan children that are struggling in reading or math excel academically. The Corps employs AmeriCorps funding and works in cooperation with local schools and school districts to implement research-based math and reading strategies for students from Pre-K to 8th grade.

Description

Minnesota Reading Corps a program that is working to ensure that all Minnesota children are on track to read by the end of third grade. We do this by training and placing AmeriCorps members in elementary and preschool settings across Minnesota.

Math Corps members help 4th - 8th grade students who need assistance with math. The program trains members in research-based math instruction methods and places them in sites such as elementary and middle schools. In addition, members participate in AmeriCorps programming including engaging volunteers and personal and professional development training.
