Mission Statement

U.S. Open Cycling is an RI-based not-for-profit whose mission is to reduce obesity by helping people incorporate bicycling into their daily activities. We work in cycling because it is the most popular exercise mode after walking and it serves as both exercise and sustainable transportation.

Description

The Foundation works four ways.

We teach, with our Cycle-for-Health and Share the Road programs for beginning cyclists and bicycle commuters.

We support, with kiosks set up each weekend on RI's public bike paths.

We engage with multiple fun rides at various locations during the summer.

We inspire with the U.S. Open of Cycling one-day race for the world's top men's and women's professional cycling teams.
