About Bay Area Older Adults: Bay Area Older Adult (BAO) is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers adults of all abilities to take charge of their health, embrace diversity and inclusion, and become change agents for environmental sustainability and climate resilience. Our passionate founder, who has volunteered for 15 years, was inspired by her grandparents, Jean Paul and Jaqueline Latil, who spent their retirement becoming experts in birding, mushrooming, origami, and leading walks in Queens NY. BAO’s mission and vision reflect their way of life. About the job: We are seeking a Voice Actor to join our small and highly motivated team and help us bring joy to the lives of older adults of all abilities. We have a simple, short script (5 min) about reducing pollution of our watersheds for lay people at community centers. This is not a technical script and just want to teach the public simple actions they can take to reduce watershed pollution. We need a voice actor to read and record and produce a high quality electronic file. You will need to have electronic equipment, such as a high quality microphone, and sound energetic and interesting. How BAO supports you: You will not be alone! About the job: We are seeking a Community Center Outreach Manager to join our small and highly motivated team and help us bring joy to the lives of older adults of all abilities. As our liason, you will be responsible for our presentations at San Jose senior and community centers. We have prepared a short, simple video presentation (15-20 min) about reducing pollution of our watersheds. We are looking for a volunteer who will drive to community center on scheduled dates, play the video at community center (mostly in San Jose) and answer any questions from the audience (we will give you these materials as well). We plan to have at least 6, and up to 10, presentations per year. We have the community center contacts and can help with scheduling the presentations. How BAO supports you: You will not be alone! The BAO team is here for anything else you need. We will reimburse you for mileage to travel to community centers. Note: We require a minimum three-month commitment. Dr. Anne Ferguson and her team did excellent work in helping older adults in the bay area. The volunteer task is oriented and constructive. She is a friendly, humble, and patient leader as well as a scholar!
