Mission Statement

Surfers' Environmental Alliance (SEA) is a grass-roots, project-based organization aggressively committed to the cultural and environmental integrity of the sport of surfing. We are as much devoted to protecting the natural wonders of the coastal environment as we are to fostering and protecting beach access. Lately we have been working hard to ensure that coastal real estate and infrastructure development does not destroy our heritage, or our children's.

Description

SEA was founded by a surfers who wanted to do something to protect the ocean, beaches and coastlines, and keep this planet a safe place to surf. If you own a surfboard, enjoy the beauty of the ocean, or if you are concerned about preserving our ocean planet, get involved with SEA.

We are based in Northern California on the west coast, and New Jersey on the Atlantic coast, but we would be delighted to help you start a chapter in your area.

SEA is driven by all the wonderful and committed people whose projects we sponsor and support. There's lots going on in the SEA world and there are plenty of opportunities for anyone who wants to be involved.

SEA has no paid staff, no rented office space, an all-volunteer board, volunteer legal team, and volunteer activists. Every $5, $10, $25 or $100 you donate goes directly to carefully chosen battles to preserve what we love about our great sport and lifestyle.

Our motto is: Surf first! Then, let's get to work.
