To create and provide leisure opportunities to citizens with disabilities, while enhancing the quality of life for people of all ages and abilities.
Description
The City of Las Vegas Leisure Services Adaptive Recreation Division provides recreation opportunities and services that can be accessed by individuals of all ages and ability levels. We provide all sorts of fun activities from water-skiing to rock climbing, basketball to dance. We have programs that provide opportunities in almost every popular sport, like golf, floor hockey, basketball, softball, and a host of others. Truth told, our volunteers have as much or more fun than our participants, as well as being rewarded with the feeling that only comes from providing someone an opportunity to recreate they may not otherwise have. We serve people with a wide array of ability, from people that use wheelchairs to folks with developmental disabilities. No one is turned away, and we always do our best to make sure everyone is involved and having fun. We lean heavily on the support of our volunteers, and appreciate and welcome every new face.
