Community Compact

Description

Community Compact, Inc. was founded in 2008 as a nonprofit organization by a small group of individuals already active in various nonprofit activities in South Florida. Observing the unfilled needs of nonprofit organizations, especially in the area of resource development and institutional capacity, the group explored how these needs might be more fully met. Engaging college and university students to work for nonprofit organizations, typically as part of the student’s academic curriculum, became a recurring theme in the search for answers. The idea was especially attractive as this solution could be beneficial not only to nonprofits, but for students as well.

Thus Community Compact from its inception has developed innovative programs that improve the capacity of other nonprofits by facilitating and managing service learning programs with institutions of higher education.
