Mission Statement

Riverview is a part of the long-term care continuum that views the individual participant and the caregivers as a systemic unit sharing in the total care of the participant. The Adult Day Health Services is a place for peer socialization and recreation that recognizes individual strength, abilities, and difficulties in terms of social, cognitive, and physical functioning.

Description

Riverview seeks to maintain, restore, and improve an individual’s functional activities. Through a planned daily schedule of activities, individuals are encouraged to function at their optimal physical and cognitive level. Professional nursing services within the scope of practice that can be safely done at the center to manage unstable medical conditions are also provided. The center strives to allow participants to remain in their own homes as long as they are able, while providing respite for caregivers.

The goals of planned programs provided to participants at Riverview are as follows:

  1. To improve the quality of life of individuals with functional impairment.
  2. To provide respite for caregivers and participants.
  3. To provide community based alternatives to institutionalization, which is unnecessary for a particular participant.
  4. To promote participant functioning to the extent of the participant’s ability.
