To promote peace and the cooperative resolution of conflicts in the seven western counties of North Carolina. To provide affordable, quality services including: Mediation of family, neighborhood, business and other community conflicts as an alternative to judicial conflict resolution; Community education in conflict prevention and positive resolution skills.

Description

Mountain Dispute Settlement Center has mediation services available to the residents of Swain, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Graham, Clay, and Cherokee Counties, including the Qualla Boundary. We are a member of the Mediation Network of North Carolina. Programs at the Mountain Dispute Settlement Center include; (1) Community Mediation (2) Separation/Divorce Mediation (3) Worthless Check Conciliation (4) Youth Services (5) Training (6) Group Facilitation. We cannot accept cases involving violent crimes or domestic violence. We have offices located in Haywood County, Jackson County, Qualla Boundary, Swain County and Macon County at this time.
