Description

Amnesty International is a 1.1 million, worldwide, non-profit, non-partisan, activist movement working to uphold the human rights enshrined in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards. In general, Amnesty members raise awareness of human rights standards, and in specific cases, oppose human rights violations primarily by writing letters to government officials. Amnesty believes that governments must respect every individual's civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights.
