To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Description

  • The Association strives to advance the BGCA mission and programs in local communities, and to provide support and development

  • Promotes and administers the Washington State "Youth of the Year" program

  • Promotes and administers the Governors "Community Service Scholarship" awarded annually at the Governors Youth of the Year reception

  • Offer BGCA programs at over 130 separate locations, including Clubhouses, Native lands, public housing, school sites, and community centers

  • Serve over 75,000 Washington state youth in grades K - 12 through annual membership and benefits an additional 62,000 youth through outreach services in an additional 100 outreach sites

  • Offer dedicated youth facilities that are open daily, staffed by professionals, and provide proven programs that provide positive outcomes

  • Clubs and programs are available and affordable to all youth; average annual membership cost to join the Boys & Girls Club is about $20 per year, with scholarships available. The total cost to serve each child is approximately $500 per year, hence the need for fundraising, grant development, and contracts for service on local, county and state levels
