Mission Statement

The Woman's Club of Newport News is a woman's organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

Description

Our organization, comprised of woman living and working in the Newport News area, contribute to the welfare of the community in a myriad of ways. Not only do the women work towards raising money for a variety of causes, but our ladies work out in the community as well.

The members of the Woman's Club of Newport News sponsor The Girls of Excellence, a scholastic and citizenship-based club within one of the local elementary schools. We raise funds for this group, as well as meet with them several times a year on projects. In addition to the club, our members tutor students in kindergarten through 2nd grade with their reading.

Through our fundraising initiatives, we have been able to financially help support many local programs. These include, but are not limited to, The Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, The Peninsula Foodbank, LINK, EdMarc and DUCO.

Wonderful group of women who truly care about this community. Scholarships are given each year, they have many projects each year, from the soup kitchen to tutoring student.
