Mission Statement

The purpose of Peacehealth is to carry on a healing mission by promoting personal and community health, releiving pain and suffering, and treating each person in a loving and caring way.

Description

The medical model has successfully extended the lives of those living with disabling diseases. Unfortunately, it has not created a system that supports good quality of life. Peacehealth's new Palliative Care Volunteer Program's goal is to support those living with illness and thier caregivers by providing both emotional, and practical help. Volunteers can lighten the burden of those with disabling illness by helping with errands, picking up perscriptions, providing respite for caregivers, and just witnessing life stories.
