To create a global network that will fund, develop, pilot and replicate local initiatives that serve children. Our mission priorities are to promote nuturing alternatives to institutional settings and to prevent the abandonment of children.

Description

Children of the World (COTW) is committed to preventing the abandonment of children and providing nurturing alternatives to harmful institutional settings. COTW'S model programs include: A mother/child shelter to prevent the abandonment of over 100 babies in Bucharest, Romania. An HIV testing/counseling center to prevent vertical transmission from mother to child in Constanta, Romania. A medical nutritional care model for HIV+ children living in limited resource environments. Inter-disciplinary services and caregivers training for high-risk special needs children in Romanina and Yugolsavia. Numerous other nuturing, educational, abandonment programs in desperate situations including St. Anne's Children's Home in Kisumu, Kenya.
