Description
Relay for Life is the signature fund-raising event for the American Cancer Society. Teams of 8-15 members of all ages collect donations then take turns walking or running relay-style for the duration of the overnight event. A festival-like atmosphere is created with food, games, entertainment, raffles, music and prizes while teams camp-out on the track infield. Highlights of the Relay include the opening ceremony dedicated to survivors and caregivers, and a Luminaria candle lighting ceremony at nightfall to honor all those who have battled cancer. This community based, volunteer driven activity is a wonderful family event.
