To collect, preserve, exhibit, and interpret the history of the City and Township of Evanston and vicinity; to dissemiante and provide to the public access to such historical information, and to promote knowledge of and pride in the accomplishments of the people of the City and Township of Evanston and vicinity
Description
The Evanston Historical Society at the Charles Gates Dawes House, a National Historic Landmark built in 1894-96, offers guided tours of the Dawes House and research facilities for those interested in Evanston's history. Tour schedule is Thursday through Sunday, from 1PM to 5PM (last tour is 4:15PM) Research hours are Thursday through Saturday, from 2PM to 5PM. Closed major holidays. General admission, discounts to seniors and students, free to members.
