Mission Statement

Midland Volunteers For Recycling aka Midland Recyclers is a nonprofit organization that has been an active member of the Midland area community for over two decades. MVFR continues to work towards community success, which is exemplified by its mission statement:

  • To educate the community on resource conservation through waste reduction, reuse, and recycling.
  • To conserve resources by giving residents and businesses an opportunity to recycle by operating the Midland Volunteers For Recycling Center where materials are accepted and processed. This includes many materials not accepted by other programs.
  • To provide volunteer and work experience opportunities to individuals of all ages and abilities.
  • To offer cost efficient waste reduction and document destruction options to residents and small businesses.

Description

Located at the Midland Landfill, 4305 E. Ashman. Open to accept recyclables Monday - Friday 8 am - 4 pm except Wednesdays 8 am - 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am - 1 pm.

Volunteers help residents sort recyclables. Materials are processed and baled.

Volunteers also help at community events such as Kid's Day at the Midland Mall, Midland County Fair, Michigan Antiques and Collectable Festivals and Earth Day events.
