Mission Statement
Our mission has remained the same over 100 years: To Transform Lives through the Power of Work. We help and empower people with disabilities and other vocational challenges to achieve this by providing career resources including counseling, education, training, work experience, supportive services, and job placement.
Description
Since 1916, Goodwill Southern California has served over one million job seekers and placed tens of thousands of people - some with severe vocational challenges - in good, stable jobs in the community. Over the decades we have come to be known as a place where the "hardest to serve" will find help, and hope. We believe that unemployment is a winnable battle for most in our community, and we are proud to have made it our fight for 100 years.
Goodwill's service territory includes Los Angeles County - north of Rosecrans Blvd. - and all of the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties). We provide career services throughout this region that reach more than 40,000 job seekers every year. Our primary target contituencies include people with disabilities, at-risk youth, veterans and the working poor. We also operate several social enterprises, including 81 retail stores, eCommerce, secure shredding and eRecycling businesses. Through these businesses, Goodwill participates in recycling, repurposing and reusing over 120Million lbs of paper, electronics and donated goods every year.
