Description

Welcome House works with individuals currently experiencing homelessness or at-risk of becoming homeless through a variety of services in an effort to help these families attain self-sufficiency. To accomplish this we have several programs ranging from Emergency Assistance, which gives food, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies to families and individuals in need,to our Emergency Shelter, an Employment Team, Housing Team, Case Management Support, Social Security Opportunitites, and a Payee Program. Through case work, outreach, advocacy, and a continued interest in meeting the varied needs of the at-risk population we are working to make the community a better place for all.

I feel if a child is a teen ager, she should be allowed to stay in the welcome house home while the parents are working or going to school. These women probally can't get help or pay for help. If another women that is in the welcome house agree's to watch that teenager, than the parent that needs to work or attend school should be allowed to leave that teenager with that woman. This is a crissic center. these women needs to help each other. My sister stayed there years ago, because of her abbused husband, She had made friends and she also helped with thier children while they worked. I see no problem why they can't reach out to another women staying there for help. Thank you. NOTE: Please advertise more for volunteers

I started babysitting for the shelter kids in September. I think this is a great organization and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in helping people get back on their feet. They have a program that has to be worked and it is proven to work time and again.
