Mission Statement

The mission of the Mount Clemens Foundation, established in 1999, is to provide support for the City of Mount Clemens, and other charitable organizations affiliated with the City, For city projects designed to lessen the burdens of local government; projects that advance or benefit the local community; and/or projects that enhance the safety of local law enforcement.

Description

The Downtown Development Authority was established in April of 1983. From that point forward the goals and objectives of the Mount Clemens DDA have been, as stated in Public Act 197, "to halt property value deterioration and increase property tax valuation where possible in the business district and where possible eliminate the causes of that deterioration, and to promote economic growth." One avenue for fulfilling this goal is by producing a festival which focuses on Mount Clemens history, the mineral bath era, pre 1940's. We are building on the facts of Mount Clemens in its heyday. The festival will include a historical tent which will have artifacts and pictures of Mount Clemens, telling a story to long time residents and informing outsiders about Mount Clemens. This festival will also have 4 stages of live entertainment, musical revues, a children's activity center, antiques & collectibles, live auction, appraisals, food and fun for everyone.
