Mission Statement

The mission of the Queens County Farm Museum is to preserve, restore, and interpret the site. Through educational programs, events, and museum services, we educate the public as to the significance of Queens County's agricultural and horticultural past and heighten awareness of present-day agricultural and horticultural practices.

Description

Queens Farm's agriculture department manages a three acre fruit and vegetable production in addition to a livestock operation. As the oldest existing and largest working farm in the five boroughs, we strive to be a a dynamic example, for New York City residents, of what a sustainable, small-scale, and diversified farm is.

I could not believe how many like jobs are open here as a volunteer here. Yes, i recently myself volunteered with one of your jobs listed at queens Farm museum out there in little Neck, NY but the heat got to me and i left. Not a bad place to volunteer with Ms. Retherford, but i thought it would be more structured and out of the heat. Besides that, wow, I can not literally believe like how many volunteer jobs are open with you and with Americorps. Wow. amazing amount. i do volunteer with like Friends of Garvies Point in New York, but I also love this site too along with americorps. look at all the work to do. yes, i had to leave queens Farm because of the heat out there, but I still volunteer with Friends of Garvies Point. wow.
