Our chapter was founded in 2003, so we are still in our infancy, but growing. Our pledge to you is to try to provide you with pertinent, current information about what the chapter is doing in its efforts to empower the community through committed service with education about financial fortitude, home ownership, entrepreneurship and a host of related topics.

Description

Johnston County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority received its Charter on April 27, 2003. The chartering ceremony was held at the Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce in Smithfield, North Carolina. Mary Bennett Sutton, South Atlantic Regional Director performed the ceremony. There were fifty-four visiting sorors from the following chapters: Raleigh, Clinton, Duplin County, Goldsboro, Greenville, Wilson, Knightdale-Wake Forest, Durham, and Elizabeth City in attendance. The first Chapter meeting and a reception followed the chartering ceremony.
