Mission Statement

The APDA New Mexico Chapter is dedicated to raising public awareness of Parkinson's and to supporting the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) through education and research programs. TO EASE THE BURDEN TO FIND A CURE.

Description

APDA New Mexico Chapter provides education across the state and has organized support groups in local communities to provide education and support to people with the disease and their families.

APDA New Mexico Information & Referral Center @ UNM sponsors an annual symposium featuring neurologists, research scientist, physical, speech and occupational therapists, and other expert professionals. Sandy Skaar @ UNM is the coordinator and can be reached at 505 272-0472 or (toll free) 877 515-4560. The Center's Medical Director is Dr. Sarah Pirio Richardson, a movement disorder neurologist at UNM.
