AGMD is a non-profit international organization which serves as an integral resource concerning digestive motility diseases and disorders. It functions as an important information base for members of the medical and scientific communities and in addition, AGMD provides education, information, awareness, and a supportive forum for patients suffering from digestive motility diseases and disorders as well as their families.
AGMD provides information, resources, education, networking, and support regarding digestive motility diseases and disorders.
AGMD understands the individual needs of special groups of people that are impacted by digestive motility diseases and disorders. Because of these unique requirements, we have special sub-sections dedicated to pediatrics, young adults, adults, senior citizens, spouses, caregivers, and families. Each section is customized in order to meet the needs of each group.
We currently hold Digestive Motility Educational Support Group Meetings in Lexington, Mass., but will be expanding to include support groups nationally soon. We also provide online educational presentations and as well as telephone/Internet support group meetings for various digestive motility diseases and disorders.
In addition, the organization holds symposia for members of the medical and scientific communities as well as patients and their family members.
Our organization covers many different types of digestive motility diseases and disorders. Some of the more common ones include irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease, chronic constipation, and diarrhea. We also cover some of the more rarer forms such as gastroparesis, chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction, and achalasia.
We are continuing to develop new and exciting programs in education, outreach, awareness, and support while also creating new opportunities for encouraging better diagnosing, treatment, and reserach of digestive motility diseases and disorders.
