Mission Statement W.O.M.A.N., Inc. supports survivors of domestic violence & their loved ones along their healing journeys, bridging value-rich networks designed to address intersections of violence. Ultimate Impact We believe in COLLECTIVE LIBERATION; everyone deserves to feel safe in their bodies, in their homes & in their community.
Description
We offer culturally sensitive support to domestic violence survivors, their friends and family. Here are our programs:
24 hour Multilingual Support Line
Survivors in crisis can connect with trained advocates who provide multilingual confidential crisis intervention, peer counseling, safety planning, and referrals 24/7. Upon completion of trianing, all volunteers begin with one shift on our line. This is our biggest program and biggest need.
Latinx Program Services
Monolingual Spanish speaking survivors are offered individual peer counseling, support group, advocacy, case management, translation services, and court accompaniment.
Support Groups
We offer a safe environment for survivors to share their fears, angers, concerns, and goals with others in similar situations.Therapy
We offer ongoing individual therapy for survivors who are healing from the effects of domestic violence, and family therapy for survivors and their children. MFT Associates are supervised by a licensed psychotherapist. Low cost weekly sessions are based on a sliding scale.
Training
We offer state-mandated 40-hour domestic violence trainings to incoming volunteers
