Mission Statement

To alleviate hunger, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County develops programs to increase awareness of the hunger problem and provides an opportunity for volunteerism and community involvement. The Food Bank solicits and collects commodities and then distributes them to non-profit agencies that feed the needy.

Description

The Second Harvest Food Bank, Inc. is under the guidance of the Council of Orange, Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The Food Bank began providing food for the hungry in October 1983, currently serves over 450 member charities, and helps feed more than 240,000 individuals each month. Our member charities include church pantries, shelters, senior centers, and homes for abused children.
