Headquartered inSyosset,NY, MercyFirst is one ofNew York’s leading not-for-profit human service agency founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1894. MercyFirst provides an integrated continuum of care for over 4,000 traumatized and neglected children, teenagers and their families at 14 sites throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties. MercyFirst’s range of programs and services include Family Support and After-School Programs, Foster Homes and Adoption Services, Community Group Homes, Campus-based Residential Treatment and Medical and Mental Health Services, as well as the innovative Bridges to the Future, which offers training and hands-on work experience that helps our teen and young adult clients learn to be self-sufficient.

My name is Rickey Lawson I am 57 years old I see they change the name when I was a little boy it was cold St. Mary's of the Angels home for boys I need help right now when I was 18 years old I had to leave St. Mary's of the Angels home I was homeless for 10 years I wrote the streets of Brooklyn Manhattan lived in abandoned buildings for many years I had no place to go no family to run to just streets I turn to alcohol and drugs is my plan I just want to know who I am why was I born with no mother and father let everybody else I have so many forms of my life I have several jobs and my reason one the olive garden I worked for the olive garden seven years they had a saying your family that was a lie they let me go I have no one to turn to I live alone and am going to be evicted from I apartment St. Mary's was my home and my family I do not know who to turn to the for help I will be going back to the streets pretty soon I need your help now when you lost boys if you can find it in he
