Mission Statement

We are a collection of artists, teachers, chefs, and community organizers with a common vision of building communities with sustainable food systems. Our goal is to create a vibrant urban landscape that supports, sustains, and inspires generations to come.

Description

. Our goals are to build connections and celebrate sustainable food in the community through the production of high quality public art. "Growing Connections" is working in conjunction with the Berkeley Foundation for the Arts, North Shattuck Business Association, ACCI Gallery, MLK Middle School, neighborhood residents and businesses, and local youth to design and execute a large-scale mural on the south-facing wall (4,000 sq/ft) of 1625 Shattuck Avenue. The design will honor the history and power of sustainable food, local farmers, and food justice. Growing Connections will facilitate community meetings to generate ideas for the mural and community paint days so that all can participate in the creation of this historic mural.
