Mission Statement

Our MISSION is to position nature as a partner in all our lives as an element that promotes physical, mental and spiritual health and wellbeing with a focus on engaging communities that have limited or no access to the benefits of time in nature.

Description

Eagle Eye Institute (EEI) is committed to diversity so that more people can can benefit from time in nature and be involved in the conservation of our natural resources. EEI connects youth organizations, natural sites, and natural resource professionals in a partnership to provide its proven programs to youth who traditionally do not have access to the outdoors. These programs build awareness, develop responsibility, and cultivate leadership in youth. The "Learn About" programs provide youth from urban communities with hands-on activities to stimulate their awareness and natural curiosity, to spend more time in nature, to provide knowledge of the effects of human actions on the natural world, to teach them responsibility for their own actions, and to help build their confidence to pursue their interests further.

Eagle Eye is a great opportunity that caters to volunteers' different interests and schedules. You can help with anything from one-time mailings to long-term volunteer work directly with urban youth on arborculture-related activities. It's great for me because I have a busy schedule at an office job and like to contribute for monthly community service opportunities either in the city or outside the city. I definitely recommend Eagle Eye as a volunteer site.
