Mission Statement
The mission of Big Brothers Big sisters of the Northwoods is to help children in need reach their full potential through professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships with measurable impact.
Our vision is to empower youth in the areas of social development, emotional well being, and educational enrichment; contributing to better schools, brighter futures, and stronger communities for all.
Our mentoring programs serve children ages 5-17, with emphasis on reaching our youth that are at-risk due to poverty, parental status, previous delinquency, or other circumstances.
Our service area includes Price, Vilas, Oneida, Taylor and southern Ashland counties in Wisconsin.
Description
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Northwoods, Inc. is a local youth service organization that matches children with adult or high school volunteers who can serve as a positive role model to a child. The organization administers two mentoring programs: community-based and school-based programs. BBBS of the Northwoods is one of over 400 local affiliates of the nationally know and respected Big Brothers Big Sisters of America organization. BBBS of the Northwoods is a non-profit organization served by a volunteer board of directors and professional staff.
